In the first part of a series these are 9 beautiful national parks located in the South American country of Chile. Ask anyone who has ever been to Chile and they will tell you it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. As you will see below it's very hard to disagree with that assessment.

Alberto de Agostini National Park

Alberto de Agostini National Park is located in southern Chile in Tierra del Fuego. This beautiful park contains large areas of the coastline with many fjords, mountains and glaciers. Charles Darwin visited the area the park contains today during his scientific explorations. Today tourism of Alberto de Agostini National Park consists of cruise ships and other tour boats stopping by and sailing into the channels to sights like the Avenue of Glaciers.
Bernardo O'Higgins National Park

Bernardo O'Higgin's National Park is the largest protected area in Chile. It is located in southeastern Chile along the Argentine border and contains O'Higgins/San Martin Lake which is one of the deepest lakes in the world and is shared by both Chile and Argentina. Also in O'Higgins National Park are many glaciers and ice fields. The park is generally remote and isolated and tourists can visit by taking boats or helicopter trips and can also view the park taking scenic airplane rides. For the really adventurous kayaking trips including seas kayaking can be arranged with local tour operators.
Conguillio National Park

Conguillio National Park is located in central-eastern Chile and is roughly 360 square miles large. The park contains beautiful mountains, the Llaima volcano, forests and many pretty lagoons.
Isla Magdalena National Park
Isla Magdalena National Park is located on Magdalena Island in Patagonia in southern Chile. The park protects the island and other small islands located in the area. Large numbers of penguins and cormorants and other birds nest in the park which can be reached by tour boats from Puerto Cisnes.
Las Vertientes Reserve

The Las Vertientes Reserve was created in the Northern Patagonia section of Chile in 2009 to protect endangered species in the area. A limited number of tourists and environmentalists are allowed in the reserve each year.
Llullaillaco National Park

Llullaillaco National Park is located in the Andes Mountains in eastern Chile and protects the magnificent Llullaillaco volcano area. Tours of the park can be arranged from the city of Antofagasta. Tourists can see the alpaca like camelid called Vicunas in the park.
Pan de Azucar National Park

Pan de Azucar National Park is located in northern Chile along the beautiful mountain coastline. Tourists can reach the park from the city of Chanaral along the coast.
Rapa Nui National Park
Rapa Nui National Park is located on Easter Island, Chile. Visitors to the park can see the incredible Moai statues and beautiful Rano Kau crater on Easter Island which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996.

Volcan Isluga National Park

Volcan Isluga National Park is located near the village of Colchane in the Andes Mountains in northeastern Chile. The park is named for the stratovolcano Volcun Isluga which stands 18,208 feet high.
